The ATL’s very own, 2 Chainz is back at it once again. Back in August, the wordsmith revealed a follow up to 2019’s Rap Or Go To The League. The album, ‘So Help Me God,’ was announced during his Verzuz battle with Rick Ross. However, the wordsmith was forced to push the album back. However, after a few delays, he returns with his highly anticipated new project, a fifteen track album that is packed with gems.
‘So Help Me God’ finds 2 Chainz linking up with a bevy of talented artists while getting a barrage of incredible production as well. The album includes features from Wayne, Ty Dolla $ign, Brent Faiyaz, Lil Uzi Vert, Rick Ross, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and others. On the production side, we hear from the likes of Mike WiLL Made-It, Boi-1da, Chief Keef, TM88, StreetRunner, Cool & Dre, David Banner, Dem Jointz, and others. The album includes standouts such as “Quarantine Thick,” “Ziploc,” and “Vampire.” Some of our personal favorites include “Money Maker” with Lil Wayne,” “Feel A Way,” featuring Kanye West and Brent Faiyaz, and “Southside Hov.”
2 Chainz recently opened up about the album’s artwork too. He stated: “I know a lot of artists have used baby pictures and kid photos to tell their story or reveal their journey, but this one different! This is the 8th grade me; this was a proof pic because, like many of us, we couldn’t afford to order the picture package. And yes, I had on two chains. I was an aspiring drug dealer and an occasional thief. When pop went to prison, he told me if I steal, steal stuff I need and not want. If I could tell that person something today, I would tell them don’t give up; times is hard, but they don’t last forever. SO HELP ME GOD.”
