While good things must come to an end, sometimes they do return. Such is the case with the Hummer. The good folks over at GMC have revealed the highly-anticipated Hummer EV. This eye-catching new ride looks like something for the future, boasting modern technology that provides plenty of power while some modern looks add to its appeal. The Hummer EV Edition 1 arrives as a four-door pickup as the launch version.
The vehicle is outfitted with three electric motors making 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque. This all comes together for a three-second 0-60 mph time. The torque figure is about five times of what a semi-truck makes, which is excellent news for anyone who tows.
The Hummer EV also boasts a new function known as Crab Mode. The function uses the truck’s four-wheel steering, allowing the rear wheels to turn 10-degrees and drive the vehicle diagonally at low speeds. The ride includes an impressive range of around 350 miles and consists of a fast-charging cable that can charge 100 miles in around 10 minutes.
Edition 1 will arrive in Fall 2021, with three more models coming in Fall 2022, Spring 2023, and Fall 2024.
