A First Look | Anthony Mackie & Samuel L. Jackson In ‘The Banker’

Apple TV is gearing up for the release of AppleTV+. While we patiently await the new streaming platform’s arrival, more and more of its programming is being teased. Today we get our first look at ‘The Banker,’ an Apple TV+ original. The film finds Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson starring as real-life figures Bernard Garrett and Joe Morris. The film is based on a true story set in the 1960s, where the two men plan to build a real estate and banking empire for African Americans.

However, in order to make it happen, the duo must enlist the help of a working-class white man named Matt Steiner. The two men teach Steiner how to socialize with other rich white men and create deals they wouldn’t be able to because of their race.

The film serves as Apple TV+’s first original film and Oscar contender, alongside other films like Hala and The Elephant Queen. We can expect to see ‘The Banker’ arrive in theaters on December 6, before its eventual Apple TV+ release in January. The film is certainly one on our list of must-see movies this season.

Take a look at the first trailer in the stream below and look for more on this coming very soon. In the meantime, be sure to keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more regarding AppleTV+ coming very soon.
