A Legend Returns! The Bentley Blower Continuation Series Prototype

We have a fascination with anything fast and iconic. Before our modern age of speed, folks like Bentley put together impressive and rather incredible machines for the racetrack. Today we get a look at one such vehicle, the  Bentley Blower Continuation Series Prototype. The Bentley Blower made its debut in the 1930 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The car was initially developed by pilot Tim Birkin and was entered into the 24 Hours of Le Mans as a privateer entry. Today Bentley is bringing this iconic machine back to life, literally. The iconic automaker is creating 12 Bentley Blowers, handbuilt from the original plans, tools, and jigs. The prototype Blower will take around 40,000 man-hours of labor to complete.

The prototype will serve as a test for the 12 customer cars to follow. Each vehicle features over 1,846 handcrafted parts. Some parts, including the leaf springs and headlamps, were made by small British firms. All 12 Bentley Blower continuations are already spoken for, though Bentley’s Mulliner Classic division has plans for more continuation cars in the future.

Take a look at this eye-catching classic in the images and find out more from Bentley immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more automotive news coming soon.
