A Look Inside | Equinox’s First Hotel in Hudson Yards, New York

Earlier this year, Equinox Hotels release its first campaign. “For Those Who Want It All” starred Naomi Campbell. Marking the launch of the fitness brand’s first hotel at New York’s Hudson Yards. This stunning destination was designed by the Rockwell Group and Joyce Wang Studio. The space opened over the summer, introducing the luxury fitness brand’s debut into hospitality. The design combines luxury aesthetics with natural detail, rocking an environment focused on rest and relaxation.

The hotel boasts 212 rooms, referred to as “sleeping chambers”. Each room comes with total-blackout window systems, padded walls, and upholstered headboards. Partnering with Coco-Mat, Equinox provides all-natural mattresses crafted from organic materials such as seaweed, coconut fiber, and eucalyptus. The space features the Rockwell Group’s Electric Lemon restaurant, which boasts an outdoor terrace that overlooks the Hudson River.

Joyce Wang Studio’s spa and fitness club features a dynamic wood pattern, twisted steel details, and stretched ceiling patterns. These elements aim to “capture the contrast between the rawness of the railroads and refined forms of celebrated architecture.” The two-floor club that offers personalized activities from personal training to Pilates.

The goal of the designs and the facilities is to highlight “the unique position of Equinox Hudson Yards as a sanctuary that facilitates the elevation of body and mind.”
