Modern architecture is captivating and inspiring. Today we get a look at a stunning example from the creative minds of Woven Architecture and Design. Dubbed the Vertes Retreat, this gorgeous space is located in the rocky formations of Sakinaw Lake. The retreat features an L-shaped volume that gently fits into the natural landscape, hovering 30 feet above the water.
The modern form features blackened timber plank cladding which effortlessly blends into the scenery. Natural cedar boards add a nice contrast, which continues inside. The interior features a beautiful main living area that is anchored by a steel fireplace, while concrete floors, timber ceilings, and white cabinets have a nice contrast, while massive floor-to-ceiling windows frame the views of the natural surroundings.
The interior opens out to a terrace that is covered by the flat roof’s oversize eaves. The open-air area features a dining room, lounge space, and fire pit, allowing guests to immerse themselves in nature. This stunning retreat is a perfect example of modern architecture in a rustic setting.
