Looking to add something special to your sneaker collection? Nike returns today, doing so with a look at the latest “Aunt Pearl” edition of Kevin Durant’s signature sneaker. Today we get a look at the Nike KD 12 “Aunt Pearl.” The new design offers a bold and striking appeal that serves as a tribute to the forward’s late aunt. This latest iteration pulls references from past designs, offering a sleek and eye-catching appeal throughout. The tradition began back in 2012 with the KD 4 and has continued ever since.
This time around, things are a little different, pulling details from past releases for something quite unique. The sneaker comes rocking a pearl graphic from the KD 4, and the sock liner hits are from the KD 5. A bold rose print wraps around the heel, which references the KD 6, while the winged midfoot strap comes from the KD 7.
The KD 9 embroidered heel badge is seen on the back, while the velour-like material on the collar, tongue, and raised midfoot Swoosh was seen on the KD 10. The marbled outsole is carried over from the KD 11, adding a nice touch in the process. The sneakers also boast 5/8 cut, dynamic Flywire support, and strobel-less midsole with full-foot Zoom Air cushioning. The sneakers are certainly eye-catching and definitely worth adding to the collection.
