A New Kind of Immersive Drive-In Movie Experience | Cinemauto

2020 has been an interesting year, to say the least. The “new normal” is having an impact on everyone. In the face of social distancing, a new kind of drive-in movie and cultural experience has arrived. Cinemauto is launching in Los Angeles in Chinatown, providing an experience based in community, art, entertainment, and food. The event will take place beginning Sept. 18 & 19 and will last through December.

The event series was created as a way to support local businesses and charities, re-energizing Chinatown in the process. The goal of Cinemauto is to bring a much-needed sense of togetherness, doing so with a unique experience in the process. Cinemauto will include a drive-in movie with feature film each night as well as diverse programming. Other features include a community market, merch, local eats, digital activations, and music.

The first weekend is titled Cinemauto: A Celebration of Hispanic Filmmakers featuring Selena. This initial event will benefit Homeboy Industries Art Academy and LALIFF while honoring, celebrating, and amplifying Hispanic filmmakers for Hispanic Heritage Month. The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival is also curating four different short films and music videos by four different filmmakers.

Check out the flyer below for more information and head over to Cinemauto to immediately pick up your tickets. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for much more entertainment news coming very soon.
