A Place To Relax | Black Body Mountain Shelter

For anyone who has spent time on the trail know the importance of proper shelter. For climbers, hikers, and the like, shelter is an essential element of safe, long-distance expeditions. Today we get a look at a modern example, the Black Body Mountain Shelter. This unique modern structure is located just below the summit of Dormillouse. The design was created as a refuge for passing mountaineers.

The hexagonal volume boasts a metal facade with a dark finish. This design contrasts the sea of green hillsides that surrounds it. The interior features a swiss pine interior, offering a warm welcome for the climbers and hikers who visit. The minimal design offers a table at the center, and tiered platforms for seating and sleeping. Two large panes of glass flank the shelter while its geometric form focuses on the summit. The modern, eye-catching approach is an excellent retreat for adventurers, offering just enough space and shelter in the process.
