After taking a look at everything arriving on Netflix in September, today we take a closer look at one series in particular. Through the years we’ve all gotten familiar with the antics of Sacha Baron Cohen. We know Cohen as Ali G., Bruno, and Borat. Well, the English actor is looking to expand outside of his comedic roles with his latest performance. Soon he will star in Netflix’s upcoming original entitled ‘The Spy.’
The limited series is inspired by the “real-life story of former notorious Mossad agent, Eli Cohen.” The agent went “undercover in Syria and ultimately changed the course of Israel’s history.” The series is set in the 1960s and will star Cohen as Eli Cohen along with Noah Emmerich, Hadar Ratzon Rotem, and Waleed Zuaiter. The crew will provide an inside look at the mission that was a big part of modern history. The series looks intense and eye-catching, and we are here for anything based on real events.
The first trailer will certainly have you wanting more, and we’ve got our calendars marks for this one. It will also be interesting to see Cohen stepping outside of his comedic roles to showcase his dramatic side. All six-episodes of The Spy arrive on Netflix on September 6th.
