As you probably know by now, we have quite an affinity for outstanding modern architecture. We’ve seen plenty of exceptional examples, but we’ve seen nothing like this; the Black Villa. This unique structure is situated in a hillside in Harriman State Park. The dwelling offers a contemporary aesthetic to rural New York, featuring bold attention to detail and a sleek facade. The expansive home provides the perfect retreat from our modern reality.
The home features a dark, black exterior that was created in abstract forms. The incorporate this modern facade into the natural, rugged scenery, the home boasts a living green roof. The villa’s interior is bright and airy, seamlessly contrasting the exterior while providing a minimal approach. The warm wood floors and floor-to-ceiling glazing are a nice touch, providing an inviting appeal while providing unrivaled views of the landscape in the process. The home also features an expansive skylight that spans the entire living room, flooding the interior with natural light throughout the day.
