And Here Are… | The Nominees For The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards

It’s that time of the year already! Today the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards nominations have been announced, and streaming dominates the list of nominations. Netflix is at the top of the list, pulling in a record-breaking total of 160 nominations in total. They surpassed their rival HBO, which garnered 107 nominations in total. Netflix titles such as Ozark, The Crown, and Hollywood helped propel them to the top.

This is the second year that the streaming service has beat out HBO. They did it back in 2018 with 112 nods to HBO’s 108. Even though they came in second, the HBO series Watchmen leads with the highest amount of nominations for a program with 26. Amazon Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel received 20 while Ozark brought in 18.

Individuals nominated this year include Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carrell for The Morning Show, Billy Porter for Pose, and Zendaya for Euphoria. You can check out the full list of nominees below.

The winners of the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on September 20th. Keep it locked with The Culture Curators for much more entertainment news coming very soon.
