Andy Blank & The NBA Create New Basketball Sculptures

As a part of its 75th-anniversary celebration, the NBA has showcased the past and future of the game through art. The league recently worked with Victor Solomon on a series of new trophies; now, they are back at it again. This time the NBA has aligned with Andy Blank for a series of sculptures inspired by the basketball itself. The artist has created a series of handmade sculptures cast in his Brooklyn studio.

Each half basketball is crafted from solid plaster, capturing every tiny detail of the ball. From the grip and grooved channels on the surface to the Wilson logo, all of the details are intact. Instead of the traditional dark orange hue, the artist has created each of the four limited-edition tabletop sculptures in pastel colorways. Only 75 of each color are available, so act fast.

Check out the eye-catching sculptures in the images and head over to AndyBlank.com to pick up your favorites immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the intersection of sports and art.
