Angles x Edges | The Shark House

While we’re captivated by modern architecture, we are not captivated by anything typical. Today we get a look at a home that is anything but typical. The Shark House is located in New Zealand while taking design cues from European supercars. The Shark House is the brainchild of First Light Studio. This asymmetrical dwelling features clean lines and overlapping angles that create the illusion of a building in motion.

The Shark House comes clad in dark seamed steel while a timber grill on the upper level adds a nice contrast. The timber serves a break for the monochromatic exterior. Inside the home exudes a warm, welcoming atmosphere that certainly contrasts the exterior. The home is filled with rich woods tones and textured concrete walls. This matches nicely with the grain of the exterior’s wood screens, tying everything together seamlessly. The facade’s stark details are seen through a suspended black steel staircase. These unique details add to the home’s sculptural presence.

Sharp, unique, and luxurious, this home is certainly one worth your time and attention. Take a closer look at the Shark House in the images below and learn more about the home from First Light Studio right now. Keep it locked for more modern and contemporary architecture coming very soon.
