Art Decor | Gianni Lee Reveals A Limited Series of Rugs

The one and only, Gianni Lee is venturing into home goods. The artist has partnered with New York City rug makers Rug & Kilim for a limited series of rugs. The collaboration comes to life as three of Lee’s original artworks.

The first, “Pharaoh By The River,” features the artist’s signature skeleton alongside indigenous plants that grow along The Nile. “Power to the People” shows a scene of local inhabitants fighting for their land while “The Great War” was inspired by the Haitian Revolution.

Each of the works was handwoven by rug artisans in India following a discussion between Lee and Rug & Kilim around colorway and yarn selection. Lee is known for his surrealist paintings and street art. His works examine intersecting racial, political, and technological elements found in American society.

His street installations can be seen in Paris, London, New York City, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia. In the past, he’s also worked with brands like Audi, Nike, Fendi, and Coach.

Check out the limited series of rugs in the images below and head over to Gianni Lee’s website to find out more. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the art department coming very soon.
