Art For Sale | Banksy’s Devolved Parliament

The largest Banksy canvas known to exist, Banksy’s Devolved Parliament, is one of his most iconic. The painting depicts the House of Commons, filled with chimpanzees instead of MPs. The piece was first exhibited back in 2009 before being purchased from the artist by its current owner in 2011. The painting is massive and quite vivid.

The image measures over 14 feet wide by just over 9 feet tall. It was exhibited again this March in honor of “Brexit Day,” as a reminder of its importance in the modern political climate. It was also on display as a signal of its place in the overall history of political satire. Soon the stunning work of art will be auctioned off by Sotheby’s in London. The painting is expected to set the record for most expensive Banksy ever sold, though estimations of its expected sale are all over the place. This work of art is legendary, and its new owner will certainly be proud to add it to the collection.

Take a closer look at Banksy’s Devolved Parliament in the image up top and head over to Sotheby’s to find out more about the painting and the auction. Keep it locked here to The Culture Curators for more from the art world coming soon.
