Back in January, No More Rulers linked up with Futura for a book of Futura-isms. The book featured a collection of quotes by the artist Futura. The book is part of No More Rulers’ ongoing series of books with Princeton University Press. The collection includes some of the greatest art makers, such as Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Ai Weiwei. Now they have come together for a print of ‘MIDNIGHT FORAYS.’
The Futura-isms book features 176 pages that contain a unique look at Futura’s decades-long career. Today they have aligned again to commemorate the release of the book. NMR and Futura will launch a special edition print entitled MIDNIGHT FORAYS. The print is 18 by 24 inches and features the artist’s favorite quote from the book.
The print reads: “It makes perfect sense that the subway system would literally become the “vehicle” It just happened; it invited it. Suddenly graffiti wasn’t limited to tenement halls, schoolyard walls, and bathroom stalls. Graffiti had found the speed at which it needed to be seen. To keep in step with the fast pace of communication and information sharing. What had started out as playing in subway tunnels had progressed into midnight forays deep in the interiors of the system.”
Each print comes as a signed and numbered edition of 100, with each one priced at $1000 USD. Further details surrounding the print release will be revealed during Pérez Art Museum Miami’s latest installment of its Scholl Lecture Series this February 23 at 6 p.m. EST.
