Art For The People! Fabio Viale’s Tattooed Marble Sculptures

If you haven’t encountered the works of sculptor Fabio Viale, pay attention. The artist has taken his talents to the Tuscan town of Pietrasanta for a stunning public exhibition. The artist has put together a beautiful exhibition that features monumental works that include his tattooed marble sculptures. The artist was invited by Pietrasanta’s mayor to display a series of works centered around the town’s history. The exhibition is titled ‘Truly’ and is curated by Enrico Mattei.

The exhibition was displayed across the town’s picturesque public spaces, including the 14th-century church of Sant Agostino. The exhibition features stunning sculptures that are crafted from white marble with intricate details throughout. Each stunning sculpture is then adorned in tattoos.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is ‘Souvenir David.’ This massive sculpture portrays Michelangelo’s David, in which the artist experimented with a new type of tattoo. The torso is inspired by the ‘Torso Belvedere’ and an original work. The torso inspired by the ‘Torso Gaddi’ was created in collaboration with Marcel Burlon.

You can check out this stunning exhibition of tattooed marble sculptures in the images and a short video below. Find out more about the exhibition and Fabio Viale while you’re at it. Be sure to keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding art exhibitions coming soon.
