Art Icons! Ralph Steadman Reveals ‘Fear and Loathing’ NFTs

Artist and illustrator Ralph Steadman is back in the news. He recently revealed plans to drop his first collection of NFT animations and digitized drawings. The collection was inspired by his iconic illustrations for Hunter S. Thompson’s novel Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. The NFTs will be released on Nifty Gateway, paying homage to crucial moments of the artist’s career along the way.

The crypto pieces include an animated piece from The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved entitled Winner’s Circle and a still image from 1996 that explores the implication of the digital era. Steadman released a press statement that reads: “When I started out, I wanted to change the world, and I have – it’s worse now than it was when I started. I hope that the NFT space can help make it better for the creatives out there.” It goes on to add, “It’s fascinating after nearly 70 years to discover an entirely new space to present my work.”

The Fear and Loathing at Niftygateway collection drops today on Niftygateway.com. Find out more immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art drops and NFT news coming very soon.
