Art In The City! Meguru Yamaguchi To Launch First Museum Show In Japan

The one and only Meguru Yamaguchi is getting ready for his first-ever museum exhibition in Tokyo, Japan. The showcase, entitled “YOUR OLD FRIEND,” will feature seven new works from the artist. The massive presentation will showcase his sculptural paintings and his signature brushstrokes, while an immersive installation is set to be the centerpiece. The artist has even reproduced his entire New York studio in one of the gallery rooms.

The show also serves as his return to Japan after ten years. Along with the new works, the exhibition will feature a selection of early works. These early works of art include portraits and paintings by Yamaguchi. Elsewhere guests will find a series of limited edition prints featuring Yamaguchi’s paintings captured by Japanese photographer Jiro Konami. The exhibition serves as a retrospective that takes a look at Yamaguchi’s artistic journey. The showcase will include his earliest works when he was a student attending university in Tokyo.

The showcase, “YOUR OLD FRIEND,” will run from October 31st until November 16th. Take a look at a few selections from the exhibition in the images and find out more from the PARCO Museum while you’re at it. Be sure to keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art and art news coming soon.
