The Contemporary art gallery, DUVE Berlin, is currently showcasing a two-person exhibition entitled “KARMA.” The installment boasts original artworks by Brooklyn-based artist Roxanne Jackson and British painter, Oli Epp. The presentation features pieces crafted by the artists during their shared residency at PLOP in Central London. Throughout we find a range of eye-catching art that includes Epp’s dynamic figurative paintings of faceless subjects and mirror-like forms.
Jackson’s ceramic sculptures are seen alongside, boasting images of splayed animal heads and otherworldly creatures. The showcase’s theme centers on “action and reaction,” according to the gallery. The gallery released a statement describing the installation. It reads, “Through riffing on similar colors, forms, concepts, and subjects, their creative language and shared interests have become enmeshed and activated in each other’s works. The stage has been set for tragic-comic misfortunes to play out.”
For those interested, “KARMA” is on view now at DUVE Berlin until October 25th; don’t miss out. For those who can’t make it to Berlin, no worries.
