The one and only, Daniel Arsham, is back! The New York-based artist is currently showcasing his latest works, taking over the Perrotin Gallery. The exhibition is entitled Time Dilation, serving as a juxtaposition of sculptures of ancient gods and goddesses. The pieces are from Arsham’s collaboration with the august RMN-Grand Palais with Pokémon characters.
The pieces include mythical beings from both eras, which are seen with Arsham’s signature erosion treatment. Each one is set with geological materials while taking over three floors of the gallery. The installation also features a series of paintings that drop his classical figures. Elsewhere Daniel Arsham shows off colorful resin pieces made from transparent magazines, VHS tapes, and cereal boxes.
The exhibition can be seen in the images below and will be on display until February 20, 2021. To find out more, visit Perrotin’s website and plan your visit immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the art department coming very soon.
