Art On Display | ‘KAWS:HOLIDAY’ Takes Over Mount Fuji

After taking his ‘COMPANION’S’ all over the world artist known as KAWS is back, this time popping up in Japan. KAWS recently revealed the fourth stop of the ‘KAWS:HOLIDAY’ sculpture, which is now on display near Mount Fuji, Japan.

The display is on show until July 24th, centered around a 40-meter-long inflatable COMPANION figure, as well as a unique camping experience. 2,000 campers will be camping out at the foot of the inflatable figure at the Fumotoppara Camping Ground sponsored by Herschel Supply, who is also making some of their own unique accessories for the occasion. KAWS’ iconic COMPANION figure is seen in a relaxed position, situated by the most significant symbol of Japan’s natural beauty, enjoying the view while taking in the spectacular sights. The exhibition was created in collaboration with longtime collaborator AllRightsReserved, the installation is set to be opened with a drone performance by the SKYMAGIC drone team.

The display will showcase and spotlight KAWS’ signature works, doing so in play with the tranquil scenery of the area. KAWS:HOLIDAY JAPAN is the latest stop of this unique tour of art, following stops in Seoul, Taipei and Hong Kong. Take a look at KAWS:HOLIDAY JAPAN and look for it now through July 24th.
