Art & Superheroes | Uniqlo UT Reveals Jean-Michel Basquiat x Warner Bros. Capsule

With Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Batman film on the horizon, we can expect to see much more of the caped crusader soon. Before he arrives, Uniqlo UT returns with a new capsule collection with Jean-Michel Basquiat and Warner Bros. The two have come together to create a bold and creative collection for our wearing needs. The range includes graphics inspired by Basquiat’s rarely seen works of DC superheroes.

The artist made use of several heroes and villains, and this new capsule collection brings them to life. The range includes hoodies and tees in various base color options. One particular highlight features a tonal black hoodie featuring Basquiat’s Untitled work from 1983. The piece features Batman and Robin in abstract form alongside Basquiat’s signature, free-associative texts.

Basquiat once told fellow graffiti artist and iconic hip-hop emcee, Fab 5 Freddy “I want to make paintings that look as if they were made by a child.” The new collection captures the artist’s childlike spirit, offering reimagined colorful characters and themes in the process.

Check out the new Jean-Michel Basquiat x Warner Bros. collection in the images below, and look for the capsule to arrive on Uniqlo’s website and select stores on September 7th. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more style and streetwear selections coming very soon.
