Art x Architecture | The Tsai House by Ai Weiwei

Contemporary architecture is not only eye-catching but compelling and inspiring. The artist Ai Weiwei is known for his visual arts and his work on the Beijing National Stadium for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The contemporary Chinese artist also designed one residence in the United States, the Tsai House. Today we get a closer look at this impressive modern structure, which is currently on the market.

The Tsai House is located in Upstate New York, and it is comprised of four sculpted modules. The eterior is clad in corrugated galvanized iron, while each of the four cubes are connected by a continuous passageway for a total of 3,700 square feet. Inside we find a three-bedroom layout that includes three bathrooms and generous living spaces with floor-to-ceiling glazing throughout. The home’s double-height gallery-style walls add to the modern aesthetic of the strucutre, which is situated on 37-acres. The property also features a corten steel Y-shaped guest house which includes an additional two bedrooms, a studio, and a gallery space for artwork.

This home is a beautiful example of contemporary design, with brilliant attention to detail throughout. Get more familiar with the unique, thoughtful design in the images and learn more about the home from Klemm Real Estate. Place your bid immediately and start packing your things!
