Asher Roth – Snazzy Kat

Philly’s very own, Asher Roth, makes his return to music. The wordsmith has made a name for himself in the life of activism, and as an entrepreneur, today he’s back with something new for our listening pleasures. With the third installment of his Greenhouse Effect series arriving soon, Mr. Roth returns with a new single called “Snazzy Kat.” The track also comes with an accompanying video.

Asher opened up recently about the latest Greenhouse Effect installment, speaking about the concept and its inspiration. Roth stated: “The tape is a rap opera, of sorts, about a professor at the University of College who is teaching horticulture. A few students, looking at his long hair and Birkenstocks, assume he can teach them how to grow pot. So he does.” He went on to add, “Eventually, the Greenhouse gets broken into by a few kids who steal the grow to sell it but ultimately get caught by a police officer–who’s a former student of the Professor’s class who could never learn how to grow. The pot (retrohash) being grown is actually magical and creates a portal to the World of Abundance, but only when smoked by a kind soul. If smoked by a bad apple, the world as we know it would erode.” Asher shared a “GEV3-Piece” of songs, including “Cruise Ships,” “Laryngitis,” and “Snazzy Kat.”

Check out the trio of tracks below, as well as the “Snazzy Kat” video. Look for more from Asher Roth coming soon, and keep it locked with The Culture Curators for all the best in new music.
