Back To The Classics | PUMA Officially Debuts The Relaunch Of The Rider

The good folks over at PUMA are back, though they are looking to the past for inspiration. The iconic sportswear imprint is back with the relaunch of their Rider franchise, which is 40 years in the making. Initially revealed back in 1980, the original Fast Rider launched when the sport of running started to move from the track to the street. The silhouette was one of PUMA’s most comfortable and simple running shoes, rocking a lightweight design with a shock-absorbing Federbein outsole. PUMA returns to revamp and transform the original, doing so with two new styles, the Future Rider and Style Rider.

The Future Rider is a casual-cool street style featuring a slimmer outsole. Details include a TPU heel stabilizer and this lightweight deconstructed upper with minimal padding and lining.

PUMA Welcomes Back The Rider!

The Style iteration comes rocking a silicon molded heel deco and an outsole grip to reference the original Federbein outsole. However, the outsole has been reduced for a more subtle look. Both sneakers are host to bold color-blocking and a shock-absorbing RIDERFOAM for high rebound and ultimate comfort.

The silhouettes arrive for men and women, both joining PUMA’s growing FUTRO (future meets retro) designs. The further celebrate the return of such an icon; PUMA is also reissuing a limited-edition OG Pack of the original from 1980.

The sneakers are slated to drop in two different colorways and retails for $70. All styles will be available in limited quantities at select retailers and on PUMA.com. Pick up yours today and keep it locked for much more from PUMA coming very soon.
