Beyonce – The Lion King: The Gift

She’s back! Queen Bey returns, doing so with a brand new project for our listening enjoyment. Today Beyonce drops off, ‘The Lion King: The Gift,’ which is more of a solo album than it is a soundtrack for the Lion King; which hits theaters today. King Bey has curated, and executive produced the soundtrack for Disney’s second live-action remake of 2019, providing something unique, infectious and impressive to say the least.

Beyonce stated: “This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa, and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it,” adding “I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa.” The album dubbed The Lion King: The Gift comes loaded up with fourteen new tracks, including an impressive list of guest artists. The project finds Bey linking up with the likes of Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Tierra Whack, Saint JHN, Pharrell, WizKid, Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter, 070 Shake, Jessie Reyez, and more. She provides something refreshing and smooth, filled with standout material along the way.

Tracks to hear include “Find Your Way Back (Circle Of Life),” “The Nile” with Kendrick Lamar, “Water” with Salatiel and Pharrell, “Otherside,” and our personal favorite “My Power,” with Tierra Whack, Busiswa, Yemi Alade & Moonchild Sanelly. Don’t sleep on this one. Check out the impressive new opus, ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ in the stream below and be sure to check out ‘The Lion King’ in theaters this weekend!
