Bigger & Better | Sacha Jafri Is Creating The World’s Largest Canvas Painting

The ballroom of Dubai’s Atlantis resort has been transformed into a massive art studio. Why? Well, British artist Sacha Jafri is currently working on the world’s largest canvas painting. The piece, entitled  The Journey of Humanity, will measure in at 1,800 square feet and will be revealed this November.

The bright, abstract canvas will be verified by the Guinness World Record Books and then divided into 60 pieces. Those individual paintings will then be framed, numbered, signed, and cataloged before heading to auction. The artist wanted to do something different with his craft, doing something big in the name of charity.

The goal of the exhibition is to raise $30 million for children impacted by Covid-19. The artist has linked up with the charities Dubai Cares, UNICEF, UNESCO, and the Global Gift Foundation, bringing art in order to give back to those that need it most.

Check out a small image of the canvas up top and find out more about the piece via  Humanity Inspired. In the meantime, keep it locked right here with The Culture Curators for more from the art department coming very soon.
