The evolution of gaming has been quite a wild ride. Graphics have gotten incredibly realistic, and modern hardware has elevated the whole experience to new heights. Samsung is changing the game, doing so with their ultra-curved gaming monitor, dubbed the Odyssey G9. The new accessory was first unveiled during CES 2020. The monitor features a concave 49” screen, with a curvature degree of 1000R that “matches the curve of the human eye” for ultimate immersion.
The Odyssey also utilizes Samsung’s proprietary QLED Quantum Dot pixel technology, which claims 125% more color than a standard sRGB output. Other details include a 240Hz-capable refresh rate paired with 1ms response times that allow for gamers to keep up. The device also features G-Sync and FreeSync support for reliable pairing with your computer’s graphics card. The Odyssey G9 49” also includes Infinity Core Lighting. This feature allows users to fine-tune the external core lighting ring on the rear of the display. The design consists of a white futuristic chassis while thin surrounding bezels and matching white arms add to the aesthetic.
The Samsung Odyssey G9 49” gaming monitor is now accepting pre-orders with an expected shipping date of July 13th. Check out the monitor in the images below and order yours today. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the tech sector coming very soon.
