The one and only Brent Faiyaz is back. Today the talented artist returns to the interwebs with a brand new single for our listening pleasures. This one is called “Wasting Time” and finds Brent serving up his most ambitious single to date. The track finds the Sonder frontman linking up with Drake, putting together a solid showcase of their respective abilities in the process. The Neptunes produced the track, yes, both Chad Hugo and Pharrell, who laced the duo with an incredible home to do their thing.
Both artists take to the track and give us a dose of their uncanny abilities behind the mic. The tack is pushed by this smooth combination of melodic elements and drums that will have you hooked from the start. Brent raps: “And I be worried ’bout them (Oh) Girl, you want it, I see you (Oh) And I am who I am (Oh) And I be where I be (Where I be) If you ever hit me on the late-night (Yeah) I’ll give you a clear mind Might give you some insight.”
Drake adds his talents, rapping: “‘Cause shorty stay with calculatin’ moves, like Beth Harmon Swear I’m more “Purple Rain” Prince than Prince Charmin’ Disappointment, I stay expectin’ it, the pessimist gold medalist Flushed the Magnums just so they not collectin’ my specimens, damn.” The fellas put together something special and something we’ll be rocking with for the foreseeable future.
