The legendary, the lyrical, and seemingly timeless Busta Rhymes is back. The wordsmith makes his return with a brand new album, serving up his first body of work since 2015’s The Return of the Dragon (The Abstract Went on Vacation). Since then, he has teased that a sequel to his third album, E.L.E. was on the way. Well, after nearly twenty-two years since the first volume arrives, Busta is back, serving up ‘Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath Of God.’
The new project features twenty-two new tracks and an array of incredible features. Along the way, Busta Rhymes is joined by the likes of Chris Rock, Rakim, Pete Rock, M.O.P., Bell Biv Devoe, Old Dirty Bastard, Q-Tip, Rick Ross, and Rapsody. But that’s not it! Elsewhere he links up with Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J Blige. Anderson .Paak, and Vybz Kartel. The album is littered with a who’s who of iconic producers as well. Busta gets tracks from the likes of Nottz, DJ Premier, J Dilla, Pete Rock, Swizz Beatz, 9th Wonder, Rick Rock, Hi-Tek, Terrace Martin, DJ Scratch, Rockwilder, and others.
The album is packed full of exceptional material. Some of our favorites include “Slow Flow” featuring ODB, “Look Over Your Shoulder” with Kendrick Lamar, and “True Indeed,” which was produced by the legendary DJ Premier. This is certainly one we wouldn’t suggest sleeping. It’s one we’ve been waiting on for over two decades.
