Harlem’s very own, Cam’ron is back. The wordsmith recently returned with his highly anticipated new opus, Purple Haze 2. While the album dropped last Friday, today, we take a listen to one of our favorite tracks from the project, “I Don’t Know.” The track finds the Harlem representative linking up with the DMV’s very own Wale for something quite contagious. The new album, Purple Haze 2, arrives fifteen years after the first installment. Cam doesn’t disappoint, providing quite a collection of new material in the process.
This one, “I Don’t Know,” finds he and Wale sharing one hell of an instrumental and showcase their respective styles quite flawlessly. The track is driven by this chopped, uplifting vocal sample, which is paired with some slick, hard-hitting drum work. The combination provides the duo with an exceptional home to do their thing. The fellas deliver bars for the ladies, reflective on their love lives, and much more. Wale adds his lyrical touches to the track, and the fellas put together something special.
