Casa San Pablo del Lago

Modern architecture has a way of captivating us like nothing else. Today we take a look at a stunning home that celebrates its location’s scenery. Casa San Pablo del Lago is located in the North Ecuadorian Andes. The retreat serves as an escape from the city. The home is partially embedded into a hillside while cantilevering toward the lake below. The roof is multipurpose, providing shelter first and foremost while also acting as a lookout across the water.

Views include volcanoes and the town of Pijal. The roof also covers a sheltered terrace designed for outdoor gatherings. The interior of this beautiful home features concrete and steel details. The living spaces seem to float above the ground, while the exterior is clad entirely in glass. This allows the views to be enjoyed from every room, immersing the interior with the natural surroundings as well.

The home is like none other, and it’s one worth taking the time and energy to explore. Take a closer look inside Casa San Pablo del Lago in the images and find out more about the home from Bernardo Bustamante Arquitectos. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding architecture coming very soon.
