Classic Yet Contemporary | Casa KDDK

Our love for modern design extends beyond contemporary art, though it’s a passion. Modern architecture compels us as much as modern art, and today we get a look at a unique example. Dubbed Casa KDDK, this structure was built to withstand extended periods of rain and cold temperatures of its location. The unique cabin comes situated in Southern Chile, a rugged landscape with a lack of sunshine.

Casa KDDK sits on a piece of property enveloped in lush, green meadows and dense forests. The dwelling features a zinc-clad exterior while sitting on the property’s highest point. This allows for unrivaled views while also providing the largest amount of natural light possible. The incoming sun floods the interior through expansive glazing. The all-white palette opens up, creating an airy atmosphere while offering a unique contrast to the exterior.

The transparent facade also keeps the interior connected to the scenery year-round. Details such as iron and glass screens fold open to allow for a summer terrace in the warmer months. This modern structure is a perfect way to take in the scenes and the landscape, offering a great place to get in touch with the great outdoors.
