The good folks over at Sperry are known for crafting iconic and classic-looking footwear. They return with something new, linking up with Beams Japan for a striking new iteration of the classic Cloud CVO. The latest version of the iconic silhouette arrives with a suede makeover, offering a touch of quality and class in the process. Paul Sperry once said, “A wet deck was such a damn dangerous thing,” when asked why he invented the very first non-slip boat shoes.
Mr. Sperry created the Circular Vamp Oxford or CVO after a fall on his sailboat in 1934. He designed shoes with herringbone-patterned grooves in natural rubber soles, paired with quick-drying canvas uppers. The shoes have become an instant classic, worn by style-setters including Paul Newman, JFK, and Mr. Rogers.
Check out the new collaborative Suede Cloud CVO in the images and head over to Beams Japan to pick up your favorite pair immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more new footwear options coming very soon.
