Cold Weather Cocktails! Best Spuds By Bardstown Bourbon Company

In case you couldn’t tell, we enjoy a great drink. With the weather changing and those cooler nights creeping in, it’s time for some cold-weather cocktails. The good folks over at Bardstown Bourbon Company are back with a recipe that will undoubtedly provide some warmth during those chilly evenings. Today we get a look at an interestingly titled drink dubbed Best Spuds.

This recipe is packed with unique flavor that will get you through the coolest evenings of Fall. The Best Spuds calls for a blend of Bardstown Bourbon Co. Fusion Series, which is paired with sweet potato butter, boiling water, and freshly grated nutmeg. Sounds interesting, right? Best Spuds

1 oz Bardstown Bourbon Co. Fusion Series 

1 oz sweet potato butter*  

3 oz boiling water 

Freshly grated nutmeg 

Combine bourbon and sweet potato butter in a mug. Top with boiling water. Stir to combine. Grate nutmeg on top. 

*Sweet Potato Butter 

 2 cups peeled, chopped sweet potatoes 

 8 tbsp unsalted butter 

 1/4 cup raw sugar 

 1 tsp ground cinnamon 

 1/2 tsp salt 

 1/8 tsp ground ginger 

 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg 

Boil peeled chopped sweet potatoes until quite soft (~20 minutes). Drain liquid and mash while hot. Add remaining ingredients to mashed potatoes. Stir until thoroughly blended––the creamier, the better.
