Color & Detail | Wes Lang Opens “Taking off for Other Dimensions” In Copenhagen

There is something captivating and intriguing about art. Modern art has a way of capturing our attention and thoughts like little else. The acclaimed LA-based visual artist, Wes Lang, is displaying a new collection of works. The exhibition is currently on display at Copenhagen’s Eighteen Gallery, offering a collagist approach. The collection of art includes character-packed paintings for his fifth solo show. The showcase is entitled “Taking Off For Other Dimensions,” boasting skulls and demons alongside popular cartoon subjects.

We see the likes of Spiderman, Bugs Bunny, and The Smurfs. The artist paired larger pieces beside smaller works, which are mounted on boldly-colored frames. This unique contrast pops against the white walls of the gallery, providing something unique and eye-catching. Lang quoted the seminal American teacher and author Ram Dass in his exhibition statement. He stated: “It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience, including the negative ones, as merely steps on the path, and to proceed.”
