Chicago’s very own, Common, is back. The wordsmith recently made his return to the game with a brand new album entitled ‘A Beautiful Revolution Pt.2.’ The project is the second installment in Common’s ‘A Beautiful Revolution’ series, following his Black America Again album, Let Love, and the first installment of the series. The project is driven by hope and inspiration, while the wordsmith shows off his lyrical prowess and delivery, putting together something smooth and cohesive.
Common recently opened up about the album and stated: “We were in the midst of some tough political and socially challenging times,” adding, “There was still hurt, anger and pain lingering, so I was thinking, ‘what is the next step in this revolution?’” The album comes in with eleven new tracks, led by “Imagine” with PJ and “When We Move” with Black Thought and Seun Kuti. The rest of the project features contributions from Brittany Howard, Marcus King, Isaiah Sharkey, Morgan Parker, and Jessica Care Moore. A few notable standouts include “A Beautiful Chicago” featuring PJ, “Saving Grace,” “Star of The Gang” with PJ, and “Get It Right.”
Common never disappoints, and he certainly doesn’t start with this one. Check out the impressive new project, ‘A Beautiful Revolution, pt.2’ in the stream below, and look for more from Common coming soon. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for all the best in new music.
