Creative Luxury! The Zaha Hadid Designed Opus Hotel

Before her untimely passing in 2016, Zaha Hadid has multiple projects in the works. Through the years, we have gotten quite familiar with her amazing and intricate architecture. Known for designs such as the Olympics Aquatics Centre in London, The Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi, and many others, her work is striking and simply stunning. Today we get a look at one of the projects in the works at the time of her death. This one dubbed the Opus Hotel, home of the first ME by Melia hotel in the Middle East.

The structure is a free-form glass and steel design located in the city’s Burj Khalifa district. The building features a sculptured aesthetic that was signature to Zaha Hadid, resembling a cube with its center removed. The central void creates two towering volumes that are connected by a three-story bridge.

Inside the structure is host to 100 rooms and 60 apartments for the hotel. The Opus will also offer 12 restaurants, a rooftop bar, and 56,000-square-feet of office space. The design is a perfect example of Hadid’s unique design. The signature details seen throughout are a nice touch. Hadid’s cues are stunning, sharp and clean, a perfect complement to the surrounding area. Take a closer look at the Opus Hotel in the images below and learn more about this eye-catching structure from Zaha Hadid Architects.
