Decaying Designs | Daniel Arsham Fictional Nonfiction: Archaeology, 2019

For any fans of art, Daniel Arsham is a popular name. Today the artist is back, and this time he teams up with Paddle8 for a new sculptural work. The two have come together to release a new design entitled ‘Fictional Nonfiction: Archaeology, 2019.’ This special edition sculpture was specially created for the American Friends of Museums in Israel.

The work portrays an eroding printed book penned by famed English broadcaster and natural historian, David Attenborough. The piece evokes the artist’s ubiquitous interplay of time, offering a sharp yet decaying allure. The collectible cast measures 8 x 5 x 1 1/2 inches and will arrive in an edition of 500. Each edition comes with art handling gloves, while encased in Arsham Studio packaging with numbered authentication labels. Daniel Arsham’s new relic will be up for auction on Paddle8 this August 27th. This isn’t the artists first time casting publications.

The artist uploaded a number of previous examples on his Instagram portraying decayed variants of Vogue, The New Yorker, and more. Take a closer look at the eye-catching sculptural design in the images and pick yours up from Paddle8 coming soon.
