Design Icons! Frank Lloyd Wright’s Still Bend House

When it comes to mid-century modern architecture, one name, in particular, rings bells: Frank Lloyd Wright. Today we get a look at a home designed by the famed architect, this one known as the Still Bend House. The home is located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, built-in 1948.

The home was modeled after his 1938 “Dream House” design for Life magazine. The home has an unconventional two-story Usonian aesthetic featuring sleek lines and large overhangs. The brick and red tidewater cypress-lined interior includes four bedrooms and a 63-foot long living room that features the architect’s signature built-in furniture.

Floor-to-ceiling glazing effortlessly connects the inside of the home to the surrounding nature. An outdoor terrace and fire pit are perfect for gatherings and entertaining guests. The house was also recently featured in Netflix’s The Most Amazing Vacation Rentals; now, the property is available for rent.
