For anyone who has ever dreamed of experiencing life below the ocean’s surface, today we get a look at a unique way to do so. The Heart Island Pontoon is a unique experience that is exclusively available to Hamilton Island guests. The Heart Island Pontoon comes as part of an investment of over $2 million and a decade of development. It’s also the first time guests can see Australia’s Heart Reef lagoon. The pontoon can house up to six people at a time. Doing so while providing a unique vantage point of the iconic travel destination.
The high-tech split-level pontoon is accessible via a 30-minute helicopter ride. The views from this portion of the experience are nothing to scoff at either. You will get a bird’s eye view of the Whitsunday Islands and Whitehaven Beach before your arrival. Upon landing on the helipad roof of the pontoon, guests have 90 minutes to experience a glass-bottom boat tour of the famous Heart Reef. Visitors can snorkel around the neighboring lagoons, or swim inside the pontoon. This unique experience is certainly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and one we’d certainly suggest.
