Your next vacation should be a real break from the norm. A drastic change from reality and a time to make memories. Many of us are surrounded by a life of electronics, staying connected, and on the move. A break is needed, and sometimes it’s great to unplug and really getaway. Today we get a look at a beautiful retreat known as the &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge. This beautiful retreat is located within Africa’s only Dark Sky Reserve. This dimly-lit location provides a real escape from reality, doing so with ten new sustainable suites.
A recently finished 10-month overhaul offers 1,400-square-foot rooms. The rooms are wrapped almost entirely in glazing, maximizing views while offering vistas of the desert landscape. The skylights above the bed offer prime night views while offering a unique way to experience the serene landscape. Each suite is minimally furnished, boasting local details and private verandas with plunge pools, fire pits, and outdoor showers. During the day guests can enjoy an adventure on a quad or e-bike, or float above the sand on a hot air balloon safari. For a more traditional adventure, there are also desert game drives. The resort will officially reopen on October 16, 2019.
