Footwear Evolution! James Harden’s “Futurenatural” adidas Harden Vol. 5

Another day, another new drop from the good folks over at adidas. This time around, the brand with the three stripes is looking to change the game on the court. Today we get our first look at James Harden’s adidas Harden Vol. 5, which features the new “Futurenature” technology. The sneaker represents a step forward for the sportswear giant, offering up a sleek design with a seamless 360-degree fit system.

The fifth signature sneaker in Harden’s collection offers a hybrid cushioning setup for a lightweight-yet-supportive design, unleashing total freedom on the court. The “Futurenatural” tech features a textured, seamless upper that is created by applying heat and pressure from all angles. The upper is then situated on top of a midsole that blends soft BOOST and responsive LIGHTSTRIKE foams.

This combination provides a feel that is soft and responsive. Speaking about the new sneaker and “Futurenatural” tech, Rashad Williams, Senior Director of Footwear at adidas Basketball stated: “Futurenatural is a new process for the creation of shoes, and is a perfect technology for Harden Vol. 5 with James’ dynamic style of play and moves on the court being, unlike any other player.” He went on to add, “James offers feedback from a design and feel standpoint, which is extremely important during our creative process, and it ultimately led us to develop the Futurenatural technology to match his game.”

The silhouette boasts a mid-cut upper with a wide collar and soft lines. This eye-catching approach is seen on top of a geometrically-patterned midsole and outsole. The original colorway uses a white base that is draped in abstract splotches of color that range from bright tones like blue, yellow, orange, teal, and berry. Branding is found in the form of a Three Stripe graphic on the lateral midfoot, while Harden branding is seen on the tongue.

The sneakers haven’t been given a solid release date as of yet, but adidas did state that they will debut in early 2021. Take a closer look at the Harden Vol. 5 in the images, and stay tuned for much more on this coming very soon. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more style, sneakers, and footwear coming very soon.
