“Change is Brewing” over at Ben & Jerry’s. Today the company returns to debut their newest Limited Batch Flavor, “Change Is Brewing.” The unique blend offers a combination of cold brew coffee ice cream paired with marshmallow swirls and fudge brownies. The ice cream highlights three Black-owned businesses by incorporating their products into the new flavor.
BLK & Bold is a nationally distributed coffee company offering a rich coffee base for the ice cream. Greyston Bakery, a longtime partner of Ben & Jerry’s, follows an “open hiring” policy. They added the fudge brownies to the mix, while Laci Jordan, a Black multi-disciplinary artist, is responsible for the imagery. The new flavor comes as Ben & Jerry’s continues its efforts to champion racial justice.
The ice cream company has aligned with more than 70 different organizations in supporting The People’s Response Act. The legislation aims to transform the system that has criminalized Black and Brown people nationwide. “Change is Brewing” is available in select retail stores across the U.S. Portions of the proceeds will go to grassroots companies that are supporting social change.
