The sneaker offers a classic appeal with a sustainable nod, crafted with a natural, mushroom-based material called Mycelium. The shoe celebrates adidas’ journey to create a more sustainable world. Mylo material is versatile and can take on any color, finish or emboss.

However, for this first silhouette, the brand chose something simple and iconic. The Stan Smith is a legend, and the Mylo iteration allows adidas to scale the rollout of Mylo faster, creating a more immediate impact on the environment. The Mylo marks a significant step forward in the brand’s ambition, exploring footwear products that are truly Made with Nature.

Amy Jones Vaterlaus, Global Head of Future at adidas, spoke about the new sneaker. She stated: “The introduction of Mylo as a new material is a major step forward in our bold ambition to help END PLASTIC WASTE.” She went further to add, “As a planet, we must learn to work with nature rather than against it and put all our efforts into finding innovative solutions that are created responsibly with resources that renew at a sustainable pace.
