Basketball season is on the horizon, and we’re all excited. Daniel Arsham is hyped, too, and to celebrate, he has revealed a brand new sculpture. The piece is entitled BRONZE BASKETBALL, which happens to coincide with next week’s start of the 2019-2020 NBA regular season. The limited-edition artwork is set to become available soon through Arsham’s online shop.
The design gets its inspiration from the global reach of the game. BRONZE BASKETBALL is part of Mr. Arsham’s Fictional Archaeology series. The ball is created from cast bronze, hand-finished with a custom torch-scored patina. The piece features a rainbow light refraction in the metal, also coming in a custom resin-cast Arsham Studio crate. The crate doubles as a display case, providing a unique piece of art for your home or office. Limited to just 99 units, BRONZE BASKETBALL also arrives with a pair of Arsham Studio art handling gloves and a rainbow-foiled certificate signed and numbered by Arsham.
