For The Squad | Volcom Becomes US Snowboarding Team’s Official Apparel Partner

The US Snowboard Team already has its eye- on the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. While there is a ton of work to do in the meantime, the athletes are ready. However, you might notice something different about the US Snowboard Team at the 2022 Winter games. The word comes down today that Volcom has signed on to replace Burton as the US Snowboard Team’s official apparel sponsor. The partnership will see Volcom outfit both the male and female US Snowboard Teams. This includes the Snowboardcross, Slopestyle/Big Air and Halfpipe athletes.

The sponsorship will reach participants, coaches, and various support staff during the duration of the games and events leading up to the showcase. This includes the World Cup, World Championship, national events, and Olympic training camps. Volcom will offer the teams enhanced gear featuring Zip Tech, a zipper system that prevents snow from entering zipped jackets. The designs will also incorporate the brand’s proprietary Thermal Defense System, which includes three-layer jackets. These jackets boast carefully placed down panels to offer the ideal amount of warmth.

Volcom x US Snowboard Team!

The range will boast red, white, and blue color schemes, naturally, while camouflage-inspired Volcom gear will be provided to the teams as well. Andrew Gauthier, marketing and communications manager for US Ski & Snowboard, spoke about the new partnership. He stated: “one key difference between the partnerships is that Volcom will be taking co-branded outerwear products to the retail market.” That means fans can likely expect collaborative gear available for purchase soon.

The announcement follows news that Authentic Brands Group acquired Volcom’s intellectual property back in April. Take a look at the new jacket designs from Volcom in the image up top and head over to Volcom to find out more about the partnership immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more style and fashion options coming soon.
