Future Footwear! The Joshua Vides x Converse Collection

The artist Joshua Vides is known for his graphic monochromatic artwork. He’s worked with the likes of BMW, Fendi, and others, creating apparel, accessories, and products in his signature aesthetic. The LA-based artist has partnered up with Converse for a new three-piece collection that is sure to elevate your footwear collection. Vides has previously worked with Converse in the past, though this marks his first-ever solo collaboration with the brand. The collection features three pairs of sneakers, the Chuck Taylor All-Star ‘70 Hi, Weapon CX Hi, and Pro Leather Ox.

The All-Star ’70 Hi features a signature canvas upper in black with white dots all over. But, the upper has been covered with a white zippable shield that acts as the shoe’s exterior. The Weapon CX Hi arrives in a “Black/Clear/Rutabaga” colorway that finds the canvas upper cut away and filled in with plastic inlays.

Finishing up the collection is the Pro Leather Ox, which blends “Natural Ivory” canvas side panels with black leather on the toe and heel. The contrasting approach is more associated with Vides’ style. The eyelets are outlined, as is all the piping, branding, and stitched details. All three pairs feature dual-branded and double-length tongues, including Converse’s moniker and the artist’s signature.

Take a closer look at the new collaborative pack in the images and head over to pick up your favorites from retailers such as Asphalt Gold on March 10th. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the intersection of art and style.
